Asheville’s Woods Edge Apartments Sells For $133m
ASHEVILLE An apartment complex off Sweeten Creek Road in Asheville has been sold for $13.3 million, a North Carolina special warranty deed filed this week shows.
Woods Edge Apartments, located at 98 Woodstream Lane, was acquired by two Colorado-based limited liability companies, Woods Edge Pearl Place and FREG Woods Edge Associates. It had been owned by Graycliff Capital Partners of Greenville, South Carolina, who acquired it for $6.75 million in 2013.
The companies filed the special warranty deed Monday in Buncombe County.

County property data shows that the complex opened in 1986. It sits on about 12 acres of land between Connell Insurance Agency Inc. and the Arden Reading Clinic. In its early years, the complex touted in the Citizen-Times its “designer clubhouse,” energy-efficient units and its barbecue and picnic space.
Woods Edge now offers one- two- and three-bedroom layouts with a basketball court, a playground for children and a pool, among other amenities.
Rent is between $879-$1,299 a month, according to its website.
Fire At Apartment Complex On Woodsedge Drive In Asheville
ASHEVILLE, NC Asheville Fire Department officials said firefighters were called to a fire at an apartment complex on Woodsedge Drive on Wednesday.
The fire department received a call around 6:15 p.m. about a fire at Hawthorne at Southside.
Fire officials said there were no visible flames when firefighters arrived on-scene, but said there was smoke.
No injuries were reported and the fire was under control shortly after 7 p.m.
